Before you take on a franchise, it is important to be aware of your financial standing and therefore know how much liquid capital you have available. This will be a decisive factor in establishing the type of network you can aim to join. Here is an overview of a few affordable franchises if your liquid capital is at a low ebb.
If you have little liquid capital, or none at all, it’s best to steer clear of certain business sectors. For example, theme-based food service concepts (like Hippopotamus, Memphis, Léon, Buffalo Grill, etc.) aften require substantial investments in view of the sizeable premises that they call for. On the other hand, other markets are well worth considering franchise business candidates. Read on to find out more.
Less than €20,000
With less than €20,000 in cash, you can easily consider franchises specialising in home improvement, such as Répar'Stores, which candidates can join with an initial payment of €5,000. Other brands like Tryba, Vertikal or Planète Gardiens are also open to profiles with barely €10,000 in liquid capital. Home help providers like AD Seniors and Domicile Clean could also be considered. Finally, markets such as mortgage brokering could be worth taking a closer look at. If you have a slightly bigger budget, the Venidom network is asking for less than €20,000 in liquid capital to get started in the kitchen business, without any need for premises but instead, a mobile point of sale from a truck.
Less than €30,000
Here too, with liquid capital of under €30,000, you can set your sights on home help franchises. Centre Services asks for a personal down payment of €27,000. Virtually the same amount for Merci + and O2 Care Services, which you can join with €25,000. If you have a commercial temperament, and the idea of supervising building work doesn’t put you off, Aquilus Piscines et Spas is also looking for profiles with €30,000 of “liquid” capital. If you’re more attracted by the food service market, franchises like Basilic & Co, the ice cream sellers Louise and Pizza Cosy are three brands that candidates can apply to with a personal down payment of €30,000.
Less than €50,000
Finally, if you have a slightly more comfortable budget, the kitchen fitting or interior design sectors might be a good call. Archéa, Aviva Cuisines, Schmidt, Quadro and Cuisinella can be all snapped up with a down payment of 50 000 euros. Also in retail, networks like Self Tissus, King Jouet and Happy Cash ask for a similar amount of liquidity. Estate agents can also be an option worth studying. Laforêt, Nestenn, Orpi, and Guy Hoquet l'Immobilier all ask for liquid capital of between €40,000 and €50.000 euros. The fast food sector, meanwhile, also harbours opportunities: names like Bagelstein, Crep'eat and Tutti Pizza all ask for personal financing of between €40,000 and €50,000.
If you feel a bit lost reading all these brand names, you’ll find your way again by making a beeline for Franchise Expo Paris, taking place from 19 to 22 March 2023 at Paris, Porte de Versailles.
